Brigade Sidescan® Sensor System SS-4100W with Mute Function & Trigger Output
The Brigade Sidescan® SS-4100W (Part Number 5257) is a 12-24V ultrasonic side detection system designed to improve awareness of objects, pedestrians and vulnerable road users alongside a vehicle.
With four ultrasonic sensors positioned along the side of the vehicle, Sidescan® helps monitor the nearside blind spot during low-speed manoeuvring and turning. This makes it particularly useful for trailers, towing vehicles, horseboxes and other specialist trailer applications where side visibility can be limited.

Improve Trailer & Towing Safety
When towing a trailer, the area alongside the vehicle can create significant blind spots. Brigade Sidescan® uses ultrasonic sensors to detect objects within the monitored area, providing an audible warning to help increase driver awareness.
The system is particularly useful when turning, pulling away, reversing or manoeuvring at low speeds, helping drivers identify hazards that may otherwise be difficult to see.
Environment Automatic Mute
The SS-4100W features an automatic mute function designed to help reduce unnecessary audible warnings.
If a detected object remains in the same position relative to the sensor for approximately four seconds, the internal buzzer automatically mutes. If the object's position changes, the buzzer is reactivated.
This can help reduce unnecessary alarm noise and driver warning fatigue while maintaining detection when movement occurs.
Detection & Warning
The four sensors monitor the side of the vehicle and provide an audible distance warning when an object enters the selected detection zone.
The detection range can be selected between 1.0m and 1.5m, while two sensitivity levels can also be selected to suit the installation.
