What Is Brigade Radar Predict?
Brigade Radar Predict is an intelligent side detection system designed specifically for HGVs and commercial vehicles. Unlike traditional sensor systems that simply detect nearby objects, Radar Predict uses advanced radar technology and intelligent algorithms to analyse the movement, speed and direction of both the vehicle and vulnerable road users.
By predicting whether a collision is likely, the system only alerts the driver when intervention is genuinely required, significantly reducing unnecessary warnings and improving driver confidence.
How Does Brigade Radar Predict Work?
The radar sensor is mounted on the nearside of the vehicle, providing continuous coverage of the blind spot alongside the vehicle and trailer.
As the vehicle travels, the system monitors pedestrians, cyclists and other vulnerable road users entering the detection zone. Using predictive technology, it assesses whether their path is likely to intersect with the vehicle.
If a potential collision is identified, the driver receives progressively increasing visual and audible alerts, allowing them to react before an incident occurs.
Three-Stage Intelligent Warning System
Brigade Radar Predict provides clear, progressive warnings based on the level of risk.
Level 1 – Awareness
When a pedestrian or cyclist enters the detection area while the vehicle is travelling straight ahead, the driver receives a visual notification through illuminated amber LEDs.
Level 2 – Increased Risk
As the vehicle begins turning left and the system predicts a possible collision, the warning escalates with flashing amber LEDs, drawing the driver's attention to the developing hazard.
Level 3 – Collision Warning
If an imminent collision is detected, Brigade Radar Predict activates both flashing visual warnings and an audible alert. The LED display also indicates the approximate position of the vulnerable road user, helping the driver quickly identify the source of the danger.
